Community Involvement United Way

We focus on finding a better way for our customers and for our employees. United Way is all about creating opportunities for a better life for all. That’s why Savage has worked with them for more than 15 years. United Way’s goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of social problems. “Living UNITED” means being a part of the change. We are proud to “Live UNITED”.

United Way Campaign

We are proud to have achieved 100% employee participation in our United Way campaigns for the past several years. We match each dollar that our employees donate with two additional dollars. We also encourage employees in our main office in Salt Lake City to volunteer three hours of work time each month to United Way Learning Centers.

In addition, we support two special United Way campaign drives each year. For example, in 2011 we supported Back to School Backpacks for United Way Learning Center children by collecting cash or school supplies. We also participated in the 2011 Holiday Pledge Drive to offer gifts to the children of the United Way Guadalupe Learning Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

United Way Day of Caring

A growing number of our Salt Lake City team members participate in a United Way Day of Caring, making facilities in the Salt Lake City area better places for the people they serve. For example, our employees painted the interior and repaired the lighting and ventilation system at the Utah Dream Center, which provides day care, clothing and food to underserved families. Our employees also landscaped the Pete Swazo Community center and refurbished the South Salt Lake Fitz Park.
